Introduction
The teaching of phonetics aims to improve the pronunciation of the sounds of a given language and to speak it properly. French is a foreign language in Kenya, which means a language learned for specific reasons. It is then a language spoken by a small minority of Kenyans. In most cases, it is at least the fourth language for the learners, because there are mother tongues, Kiswahili ± national language and English ± official language. Kenya being a country with many ethnic groups, the articulation of the mother tongue could be the cause of linguistic interference either in Swahili, or in English, or in French. This course (French Phonetics) will allow us to familiarize ourselves with the sounds of French so as not to fall victim to the influence of the mother tongue when we express ourselves in French. It is necessary to integrate the learning of pronunciation into the French class abroad. This learning conditions linguistic acquisition in its two important aspects; the first being listening comprehension and the second being oral expression.
