The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its system to allow all KCSE exam applicants to start amending their university and institution choices for the 2021 examination. Prof. George Magoha, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education, issued the directive. Prof. Magoha said that the application site would be open from May 20 to June 2, 2022
For government sponsorship, only those who apply through the KUCCPS site will be considered. Prof. Magoha has instructed the placement committee to stick to the rigorous deadlines and to notify all candidates of their placement by the end of June.
Application/ Revision Guidelines
- Application should be done online through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal, which is accessible through the Placement Service website www.kuccps.ac.ke .
- Online applications can be filed from any location using any Internet-connected device (computers, mobile phones, tablets etc.).
- Applications can also be submitted via the KUCCPS Students Placement Service App, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
The portal has more details, such as comprehensive application rules, available universities and programs, minimum topic requirements, and prior cut-off points.
How to Apply for /Revision Courses
- Access the service website at www.kuccps.ac.ke
- Log into the Student’s portal section using your KCSE year and Index Number. For the password section you can use your birth certificate or your KCPE index number.
- The next step will be viewing of the available programs. Click on the Programs tab in the portal. You can also choose to search for the courses using your desired institutions names.
- Indicate the courses you are interested in, into the Courses tab available on the website.
- After that, make sure you have a finalized decision on the courses you want to undertake before you enter the programs codes.
- To apply, click on the Application/Revision tab to enter the programs codes.
- Lastly, confirm your program codes, submit and follow the guidelines provided for paying for your application.
How to Pay for Application/Revision
- Go to Mpesa and click the lipa na Mpesa Menu
- Select Paybill
- Enter the KUCCPS business number 820211
- Enter your KCSE Year and KCSE Index Number as your account number (without spacing).
- Enter your Mpesa pin to send the application fee.
Note: The application fees for first time applicants is Ksh1,500 and for Revision applicants is Ksh1,000.

KUCCPS will send personnel to various colleges across the country during the application/revision process to assist candidates who may have difficulties. On the KUCCPS website, www.kuccps.ac.ke , a list of the institutions will be provided. The applicants who find it difficult applying are advised to visit their nearest Huduma Centers for assistance.
