Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja Degree Certificate revoked
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Dispute Resolution Committee dismissed a suit contesting Sakaja’s ability to run for the seat on Sunday, June 19, highlighting Sakaja’s academic credentials. The committee was informed in an affidavit by a petitioner named Dennis Wahome that the lawmaker’s Bachelor of Science in Management degree from Team University in Uganda was fake. However, the committee dismissed the petition in a decision issued on Sunday, June 19, owing to the absence of a legal authority and an investigational apparatus to check the legitimacy of the aforementioned degree.
Senator Johnson Sakaja still has a revoked degree
The Commission for University Education (CUE) emphasized that the revocation of the recognition of his degree still stood as soon as he was given the all-clear. Despite having received and signed the summonses, the commission charged Sakaja with failing to obey them. The university authority recalled the senator’s degree in a letter dated June 6 so that it could be examined for legitimacy.
The commission, which was led by Chacha Nyaigotti, then requested that Sakaja submit a number of documents that would aid confirm his degree and put the matter to rest. Among the things were his name on the graduation booklet, a graduation photo, or other proof that he graduated. Other items included an acceptance letter to Team University, student ID card, payment information for fees, application letter, exam schedule, and transcripts.
Political Propaganda
Sakaja discussed his degree certificate saga for the first time, as was previously reported. Speaking at a political gathering in Nairobi, the congressman claimed that his opponents, who want to see him eliminated from the contest for governor of the city, are to blame for his current struggles. He claimed that the cause of his problems was a short-lived political witch hunt.
