Eldoret Man Tells Court He Smokes to Promote George Wajackoyah’s Manifesto

George Wajackoya, the leader of The Roots party, promised that if he were elected president, he would legalize the cultivation of marijuana and permit the breeding of snakes. On July 11, Boniface Mutua was taken into custody at Bahati estate in the Ainabkoi sub-county of Uasin Gishu county after three rolls of Bhangh were discovered in his hands. People in an Eldoret court were left gaping after a guy claimed to have been using marijuana to support George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party. The 47-year-old Boniface Mutua said in court that he uses marijuana to boost his energy so he can campaign for his favored presidential candidate.
On July 11, Mutua was detained at Bahati estate in the Ainabkoi sub-county of Uasin Gishu after it was discovered that he was in possession of three rolls of cannabis with a street value of KSh 90.

Mutua pleaded guilty

If Wajackoyah is elected president, Mutua aims to be one of the first commercial growers of the crop, according to evidence presented in court in Eldoret. Since because cultivating the crop is still prohibited in the nation, the magistrate found him guilty despite his guilty plea.
The court further advised him to abstain from using the illicit substance until his candidate was elected.
After the magistrate gets a pre-sentencing report from the probation officers, the case will be brought up on July 27.

Traffic cop Gabriel Mbiti is being investigated for being “too wealthy.”

A police officer will forfeit the KSh 10 million in his bank account, seven of his plots of property, five of his vehicles, and a motorcycle. This comes after a judge determined that his monthly wage of KSh 20,000 is insufficient to support the level of wealth he has accrued. However the officer claimed that he had obtained the assets through side jobs, sacco savings, and winnings from shooting contests.

Chief Inspector Gabriel Mbiti Mulei, who failed to explain how he came to have such enormous fortune compared to his wage, runs the risk of losing the KSh 10.5 million in his four bank accounts. In addition to the cash, the officer risked losing his seven land parcels valued KSh 19.4 million, five cars, and one motorcycle.

Mbiti claims he has been working for more than 20 years. The officer insisted that in addition to having been employed actively for more than 20 years, he also runs side businesses to supplement his income. He continued by saying that in addition to holding several positions at the Coast, he was also a police sacco member. The officer said that the land parcels he owns in Malindi, Kwale Township, and Ndithini/Mananja were acquired through installment payments, loans, and winnings from shooting contests.
However, the EACC charged Mbiti with soliciting payments from motorists in Malindi while acting as the base commander for traffic since his deployment in February 2008.

Aides to William Ruto said the DP won’t be present at the presidential debate

The Media Council of Kenya, according to Emmanuel Talam, a spokesman for Deputy President William Ruto, has favored ODM leader Raila Odinga. He made these remarks after MCK reports revealed that working with Raila makes journalists feel safer. Despite a report indicating that the DP received more media attention than the ODM leader over the past two weeks, Ruto’s assistant has made threats that he will not be attending the long awaited presidential debate on July 26th.

Emmanuel Talam, a communication assistant in the deputy president’s office, stated in a statement on Thursday, July 14, that Ruto would not take part in a discussion whose organizers have adopted a position. According to Talam, the Media Council of Kenya has already demonstrated that it is in favor of Raila Odinga, a candidate for the Azimio la Umoja party, running for president.
Talam claimed that Ruto’s participation in the debate would be the same as putting an end to Raila Odinga’s presidential campaign.

Despite MCK’s research showing that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate received more media coverage than Raila Odinga in the two weeks under scrutiny, Ruto’s assistant has made threats. William Ruto received 46% of the airtime, while Raila Odinga received 45%, according to MCK data. The MCK report’s conclusion that journalists across the nation felt safer working with Raila than Ruto may have upset William Ruto’s staff.

MCK Data Report

According to the MCK research, which was made public on Wednesday, July 13, 49 percent of media would rather cover a Raila event than a William Ruto one.
According to the MCK research, William Ruto’s low approval rating was influenced by recent instances in which journalists were asked to leave his event.

Tabitha Karanja, Susan Kihika, and William Ruto kneel for prayer

Deputy President William Ruto met with pastors in the Ngata neighborhood of Nakuru. Ruto began his campaign there because it is thought to be a key battlefield for the presidential election. Ruto’s significant donations to the church have drawn criticism from some political figures on numerous occasions.

The campaigning for Deputy President William Ruto in Nakuru began with prayers at a clergymen’s gathering at local Senator Susan Kihika’s house in Ngata. Starting in Ngata in the Rongai constituency, Ruto’s Nakuru chapter campaigns moved on to Mbaruk in the Gilgil constituency, Kinamba, and Kihoto in the Naivasha constituencies. The Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate is touring the area to raise awareness of his campaign and meet with various interest groups.

A group of Nakuru county officials, including Susan Kihika, a senator and governor candidate, and Tabitha Karanja, a senate candidate, followed him. “We know who stated in a rally when it rained, ‘Mungu anatukojolea,’ and we know who would stand with the church,” Kihika argued for her position.
